Hello
I have just had a retinopathy scan which had the standard sentence 'Your test results showed that you have no active retinopathy. This means you are at very little risk of sight-threatening diabetic retinopathy at this time.' I was really pleased about this as my last scan said 'Your test result showed that you do have some background retinopathy. This means that there are small changes to the blood vessels in the retina at the back of your eye as a result of diabetes.'
Does this mean that the damage has corrected itself in the last year? Or that the small bleed spotted before is no longer active? Can retinopathic damage get better with better blood sugar control?
Just casting about for views, as my appointment with the diabetic nurse isn't for a while.
Thank you.
