Have no experience of forums and feel resistant to contributing. I have read inputs on Libre 2, decided to give it a go

You will be very welcome here, great info and support as well as good humour to cheer the day. Just ask any questions you have but a bit of info about your situation if you are happy to give it, helps people to tailor their responses. When were you diagnosed and how do you manage your diabetes.
There are many long termers but also some quite new to the party.
If you read around the forum you see how different people in how they manage their condition.

Have you been asked to complete the training contained in the Libre Academy videos, to learn how to better understand the info gleaned from the Libre 2, when compared to the usual fingerprick blood tests you' re used to?

Hi and welcome from me too.

Forums are great and this one particularly so.
As regards Libre 2 are you looking at self funding or have you been offered it on prescription?
As @trophywench mentioned, it is important to do some training so that you understand how it works as it is a bit different to finger pricking in some quite important ways. Libre is an absolutely fantastic bit of technology and most of us find it is a game changer for managing our diabetes.
I am wondering if there is a particular reason why you are keen to try it.... nocturnal hypos perhaps?? Or struggling to get your HbA1c result where you would like it to be. Libre can certainly help with these things, but the knowledge to interpret the results and act upon it appropriately is also very important. Joining the forum will hopefully fill in some of the blanks but doing the online Abbott training at the Libre Academy website should explain everything. If you have any questions at all please feel free to ask and if you can supply us with a bit more info about your diabetes ie. how long diagnosed, insulin(s) used, how you manage it (MDI or a pump) and any particular difficulties you have with it, we will be happy to try to help.

Hi Chrispi,

Welcome to the forum. It can be a bit daunting to share on a forum for the first time so well done on taking the first step. We're a friendly bunch and are happy to help with any questions or concerns you have hence the suggestion of sharing a bit more about you.

You're welcome to just have a look around and read up on the forums and main site as there's a wealth of info stored.

Let us know if we can support you in any way.

Hello and welcome to the forum @Chrispi 🙂

Welcome to the forum @Chrispi

A little nervousness is to be expected when trying something new. Hope you find the forum helpful, friendly, supportive and a source of useful, practical tips and ideas from others muddling through their own diabetes management.
