My sugar is rarely below 20 somethings, and yeah, it makes me feel horrible. I used to be such an active person. I Did Tae Kwon Do 4 times a week and now i can hardly be bothered to leave the house, which makes me even more down, i hate being in doors on fine days.

I will just have to take my time and be patient, i will deffinatley keep you all up dated on whats going on and ask advice if need be. Even if i just need some encouragment.

Thank you all

x

Jodz, Hiya!

I just wanted to say (and yeah yeah, I know I'm an old biddy and all that but I can assure you inside my head I still think I'm 18 .... I retired last year and I haven't even decided what I want to do when I grow up yet, how unfair was that????) you would be amazed how much you can actually enjoy a DAFNE or other similar course.

Being in a room with X other people who all (bar one little goody goody but we won't talk about her...) forged their log-books before turning up at clinic and with an air of complete innocence was amzed at their HbA1c's when their log-book showed they only went out of range once in the whole 3 months ......

In other words dead normal people! LOL

Who had all realised at this juncture that perhaps they needed some help ..... and it did help - both psychologically and physically.

I don't like to hear of youngish people who have all the complications going - the older people I have mixed emotions about; I feel sorry for them sure enough cos it's horrible and most likely because they haven't been taught any different; there but for the grace of God go all of us older ones - but at the same time I find it's motivational cos I ain't going to land up like them! Not if it's anything to do with me!

And it is you know - everything to do with every one of us - but the help is there now. Here and in the NHS if you seek it out.

Grab it with both hands whilst you have the chance!!

I don't think i would be able to sit ina room with loads of people i don't know. Talkin on a computer is totally different to being face to face and i sometimes struggle to cope with meeting new people. Most of the time i tend to sit in a corner and keep hush, thats one of the main reasons i joined this, get to talk to people who understand me without having to physicaly meet them, 2 birds with one stone 🙂 x

Welcome to the forum Jodz! I felt like that to start off with too, as am very shy with new people but in April I went to my first forum meet in London and loved it 🙂

That's a shame Jodz - is that one of the things you will be getting some help with ?
