Scotland's largest health board has introduced extended visiting times to its adult acute wards.

From Monday, visitors will be able to see patients on the majority of acute wards at NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (GGC) hospitals from 13:30 until 20:30.

Previous visiting times were usually across afternoon and evening sessions.

That's really good. I am pleased to see it. I know when I was in hospital in Glasgow the visiting time was 7pm - 8pm in the evening. I hated that if the buses or trains were running late it cut the visiting time short. My daughter was only 11 at the time and was finding it very difficult without me at home and hated that she only got to see me for an hour a day.
