New type 1

Welcome @saudirs 🙂 There’s a lot to get your head round so take things slowly and pace yourself. What insulins do you take? Do you have a Libre?

Yes, lots to think about at first, but it does get a lot easier with time!

Hi @saudirs and welcome to the forum - it can be daunting to start with and there is a lot to learn, but you are in the right place here - please feel free to share as much information regarding your diabetes as you feel comfortable with and don't be afraid to ask any questions you may have - however trivial they may seem - nothing is considered "Silly" here - glad you have found us

Hi and welcome from me too.

There are lots of us late starters with Type 1 here so we can empathise with the feeling of being a bit overwhelmed by it all. Thankfully it does get easier and gradually just becomes your new normal, but that doesn't mean that it doesn't take up a fair amount of brain space trying to factor in some of the many things which impact Blood Glucose (BG) levels.

If you are happy to share a bit more of your story as to how your diagnosis came about and what insulins you have been started on, we are always interested to hear and it gives a bit of background info to help us support you better if/when you have any questions.

I hope you find the forum as supportive and helpful as I have over the past 6 years. It is a goldmine of practical experience, so do dig into it.

Hi @saudirs and welcome to the forum from me too! I'm sorry you've had to join us, but do know that you're amongst people who understand. So ask questions, share your discoveries or rants and use the forum in whichever way makes the day-to-day of it just that little bit easier. Have a read through others' threads and stories that you might find useful <3 We also have an updated Learning Zone (the big orange button at the top left), that provides information around diabetes in easily manageable chunks.

Hi @saudirs and a warm welcome from me as well 🙂 . There is so much to take on board when you are first diagnosed but honestly it does over time get easier. I'm really glad that you've decided to join us as I'm sure you will find a lot of help and support from people who understand what you are going through. Please just ask as many questions as you want, we're here to help you 🙂
