I just had a look at the low carb menu plan and as you say it does seem like a lot of food but it does not mention portion size so I think they are giving you an idea of the range of foods you can eat to give a balance of carbs, protein, fats and veg. It would take a bit of work to come up with something that would be Ok for you by working out the carbs for a portion of the suggested meals.
To give you an idea of what Type 2 folk have for meals have a look at the thread What did you eat Yesterday but there will be a mixture of people diet only, diet plus meds or insulin so just bear that in mind.

Welcome to the forum @Moesp

You’ve had lots of different approaches suggested, and there are lots of different ways that people find work for them, but there’s no ‘one size fits all’ approach that will work for everyone, so the important thing is to find an approach and a set of strategies that work for you, and that you can maintain long term.

Good luck and keep asking questions - that way you’ll get a range of ideas and experiences that will give you a variety of options to consider 🙂

I have to admit its so complicated and what worked at the beginning no longer works and I am having to change it. To be fair we all look at diet but I am finding sleep, exercise, mood and a whole lot of how healthy I am is in the mix. If I am in pain whether its pain killers or the way I move or how much fluid I retain its all in there changing my blood sugars. I am down so please take the most you can in an non judgemental way. All I will say is sometimes we need carbs to keep us going out of going too low and I think trying to stabilise and slowly reduce blood sugars is better than too highs and too lows. I am a believer in doing your blood sugar test and eating and two hours seeing what it is then before the next meal. Eventually like me I have a feeling its getting too high and too low. I also find my liver is still dumping at times for no reason to me. I see a nurse soon but this is complex and I agree with everyday that no one size fits all. I will say there is a great support on here and bits to help however I will say it is a vast smorgasbord and you cannot digest or take it all in. I try each day hope this helps. I wish there was a chat on here as in other sites but maybe that would take too much monitoring. I will also say there is a lot who think they know you better than yourself and promote one way but really they mean well but remember you are unique and no one is in your shoes. Good luck

Sounds like you’ve found a good approach for you. And that’s the most important thing!
