After spending a couple of days drinking vast quantities of water and spending a lot of time going back and forth to the toilet, I was sat at my desk and thought "wow my eyesight is getting really bad...in fact it is getting worse today!" I could almost see things getting more blurred as I watched (or not if you see what I mean)...so off to the docs I went. They did a glucose check and the nurse said my reading was a bit high at 19.6 😱

Anyway that was 2 weeks ago. They've diagnosed me with Type 2 and I'm on Metformin...and that's all the information I've been given so far so I'm feeling a bit lost at the moment and found this site by chance while trawling for info and found a lot of useful things on here so I will be spending more time on here over the coming weeks as I try and get to grips with things.

Hello!!:D

Hi Mark, welcome to the forum 🙂 Sorry you have been left in the dark a bit by your doctor, I'm afraid it happens all too often. If you look in our Useful links thread then you'll find a lot of information that has been recommended over the years by people who really know the ins and outs of good diabetes management, so browse at your leisure!

Please do ask if there is anything you want to know, someone will usually respond very quickly so you won;t be confused for long! 🙂

Welcome to the forums Mark 🙂

The Gretchen Becker book on the useful links thread is well worth a read.

Wow thanks for the very quick responses...not used to that on a forum...does anyone else on here also take Warfarin which I take following 4 lower left leg DVT's...just to complicate things?
