Relationship to Diabetes
Type 1
Hello to all,

I'm not very good at messaging but I like the idea of being able to communicate with other people with diabetes. I was diagnosed with Type 1 about 18 months ago and thought my life would grind to a halt. However I'm at the same job, which involves a lot of travel, and I can keep up with the rest of my colleagues. I still make mistakes with my insulin and find it hard in foreign countries to keep my blood glucose in check sometimes but I think the key is to keep testing and keep positive.

Hello and welcome, glad you found us! I know a lot of people find this site invaluable in giving the opportunity to 'meet' and 'chat' with other people with diabetes, although there are plenty of us it always seems rare that I come across anybody 'in real life'! There are plently of people on here with a range of experiences and situations so feel free to ask/tell/rant anything!

Hello and welcome to the site 🙂 You may be 'new to this' but you've picked a great place to start!🙂

Welcome 🙂

Sounds like you have an interesting job being able to travel. How to do find the heat/cold affects your levels?

Thanks for everyone's encouragement. In reply to your question I don't find different temperatures too difficult, its the different food types and how they are absorbed into the body that makes life difficult. Also I find that on a day of airline travel things tend to go a bit awry especially if you're stuck in the middle seat!
