Hi @831 welcome to the club no one wants to be in..unfortunately your story isn't a surprise about GP's and diabetic clinics. Getting type 2 isn't your fault as there are many factors involved.
Type 2 doesn't need to ruin your life, you however need to take a bit of control of your diet.
Type 2 can be brought under control (for most) with some life changes, so ask away any qs you have, there is some great advice here, but you need to tell about what meds you're on, what are your HbA1c results, do you self monitor and what are your results, what diet, if any, you're following.
Chin up , lots of help here..
Btw I was diagnosed around 6 weeks ago, my BGs are within normal, with the advice from here..snd doing some reading about Type 2

Hi 831, welcome :D don’t despair as we have all felt like this at some point! Step one, read as many posts as you can to get a sense of the experience here, not text book, not theoretical but lived experience! Type 2 is manageable with a few lifestyle changes. My starting point was a bg of 22and advice from my doctor that I was now diabetic and my life would never be the same 😱
Thanks to what I have learned from the lovely people here has now got me reading a steady 5.5bg. My weight is dropping, I feel better and most important I’m in control. I bought my own testing kit, kept a diary and learned what foods I reacted to and what worked for me. I chose the low carb route and cut out potatoes, rice, pasta and bread (switched to Burgen, a linseed and soya low carb option).
We will all help you through so take a deep breath and read back posts, it’s ALL here :D

if only my doc would be more helpful and prescribe me sleeping pills, life would be so much simpler.
won't have to do this and could enjoy a long long sleep

831, Don’t give up, you can turn this around and we will help you. I get you feel really low right now and trust me when I say I’ve had the same thoughts many times over, but now I’m so glad I didn’t do anything with them. It’s worth hanging in there, talk to us 🙂

thanks, but what's the point ,can't see any future living like this , feel like a prisoner, don't want another 30 odd years going though life like this , sorry to have bothered you all with me problems

:( Hmm....I think you are worth it, I don’t think you are a waste of time at all

Certainly my life has not been the same...... It's so much better now....... @831 Wildly fluctuating BG can & does cause depression, we are here to help, many of us have been through this ourselves

Welcome to the site 831 from a fellow T2.
Diabetes can be managed, and people report felling betting.
Personally I decided life is too short and asked myself what I wanted to do. The answer meant changes, having an unplanned LDR (now ex :() and some interesting times. Still not figured out something's. I'm not out yet though.

Hey 831, how are you feeling today? Did you manage to make that call and talk about your feelings? I’m really hoping to hear from you, you reached out to us so I feel there is a part of you that wants to fight back so really hope you let that little part out. 831 reminds me of 8 letters, 3 words, 1 meaning....I hope you apply this to yourself because you are worth it 🙂
