Really want to get myself well after a pre type 2 diabetes diagnosis. Got scared this week with really bad fatigue...could hardly function!! Have cut out all white bread, cakes, bis etc...trying to drink more water but can only tolerate warmish water with tiny bit of no added sugar squash??? .....8 glasses a day. It's so hard especially being so tired. Do I need to see the dr/nurse ...I hate feeling so unwell.Thank you.xx

Hi june2044, welcome to the forum.

Really sorry to hear that you've been feeling poorly. Changing your diet can do funny things to the body as it readjusts however, if you're suddenly feeling unwell and there's no obvious explanation then it's worth checking in with your GP.

It could be a case that your numbers have changed or something completely unrelated so I'd get it checked out just to be sure.

It sounds as if you may have made too greater change too quickly which could explain you symptoms.
As you are only prediabetic modest changes are probably all that is needed.
I have seen mention that people can get what is referred to as Keto flu when they cut carbs all at once.
Making sure you are having plenty of protein and healthy fats as you need to get energy from somewhere and in the absence of carbs or lower carbs than you are used to it will be protein and fats.
Have a look at this link for some ideas for modifying your diet. https://lowcarbfreshwell.co.uk/

If you continue to feel unwell then certainly you should see your GP, It may be you need some blood tests to check for vitamin deficiency particularly B12 or anaemia.

If you’re feeling so unwell, you should definitely speak to a doctor or nurse @june2044 It might be totally unrelated to your pre-diabetes. There are so many things it might be that speaking to your GP seems sensible.
