Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
Hello new boy here, still trying to get my head around type 2 and the diet requirements. I need to loose 5 to 6 stone.

Hi John, welcome to the forum 🙂 Are you on any medication? I'd suggest reading our Useful links thread if you haven't already done so, in particular Jennifer's Advice and Maggie Davey's letter - they should give you a good idea of what it all entails. Type 2 Diabetes: The First Year by Gretchen Becker also comes highly recommended by many of our members.

You're welcome to join in with the Weight Loss group for tips and support, so have a browse of that section.

Please ask any questions you may have, you'll find people very helpful and supportive, and no question is considered 'silly' - so if it's bothering you, then ask! 🙂

I look forward to hearing more from you!

Hi John, welcome to the forum. Its all a bit of a mystery at first, but you will soon get to grips with it, just take it bit by bit.🙂

Hi JOhn. Welcome 🙂

Take it in small steps and it won't seem so daunting.🙂

hi john and welcome to the forum 🙂

Hello John, welcome to the forum.

I also had around 4st to lose following diagnosis. I took the slow and sure approach and eventually reached my target weight (14st) after nearly 2 years.

Not stunning progress, but I was happy to do it that way because, to be frank, I like my food and I preferred not to over-restrict myself.

Anyway, I hope you can make similar or better progress. I can report that I now feel healthier and happier than I have done for decades (I kid you not!).

Andy 🙂
