Hi. Just got news I’m pre type 2 diabetic so on steep learning curve from today. No doubt I’ll have questions!

Welcome @Jollygilly 🙂 Ask away with any questions you have. You might also want to look at the Learning Zone (orange tab at the top of this page).

@Jollygilly welcome to the forums, this is where I learnt an awful lot about my diabetes from the most knowledgeable and friendly people. Ask you questions and you will receive answers :D

Hi @Jollygilly welcome to this fabulous forum, there are so many of us that have been through alot, I’m sure you will find the info your looking for

remember one of the most important rules on here is
there’s no such thing as a silly question so anytime pop over and ask, there’s a wealth of knowledge on here

Welcome to the forum @Jollygilly

We’ve had quite a few members who have joined having been told they are at risk of diabetes, who have been able to make some modest and sustainable tweaks to their menu and lifestyle and have successfully steered away from the diabetes diagnosis line.

Some make slightly more significant changes, and have seen fairly significant weight loss, and improvement in other health conditions they have lived with for some time.

Thank you for your responses. I have been given 12 weeks for Slimming World to help me loose some weight. Didn’t know about todays diagnosis so now being positive that I can loose enough weight to make a difference!!

Just tell your S W consultant that you are at risk of diabetes so they can give you a program which is less focused on carbs as their normal program may be too high carb. But I'm sure there will be some lower carb substitutions you can make
