Type 2
Hi all, a type 2 person here. I wish you all well and sincerely hope to find informative posts here

I have had Type 2 for many years now, probably about 20, and it is now 'controlled' with Metformin and diet, which was all well and good, my bloods were fine, and then my right leg became red, about half way up my shin, which the Nurse practitioner said was Hemosiderin Staining

I am not convinced because all the photos I have seen are of a brown discolouration, not red. Anyway, I am glad to be here among friends

How red is red?

I’d get a second opinion perhaps.

And hello and welcome to the forum 🙂

Hi Colin, and thanks for the reply and welcome 🙂
It's not a bright red, it's actually a very dull red.
I will be having an appointment with my doctor next week when he is back from a break. Happily I have a surgery where same day appointments are normal

All the best, Rab

Good that you have the appointment. Hopefully the GP can confirm what’s going on.

Hi @Rabmac1 - a very warm welcome to the forum 🙂

It's great to hear that you've got an upcoming appointment with your doctor regarding your leg, and hopefully, you can get some clarification from them soon. In the meantime, we've got a very knowledgeable and supportive community here so please feel free to share your experiences here or any queries you might have.
