Type 1.5 LADA
hi I was diagnosed incorrectly in feb2011 as type2 a simple mistake as I was 18 1/2 stone with a blood sugar of 11mm/l right on the type 2 standard descriptor. It turns out I am now 12 1/2 stone blood sugars all over the place, but controllable, type 1 (1.5) LADA, it turns out the test for type 1 did not exist back then and i was tested when I had a DKA and got myself to the hospital with 5 minutes left on my clock! Everything sorted as they worked extra shifts at the local cottage hospital to ressurect me, but unfortunately I have developed painful nueropathy, every new or newly active hair follicle feels like i am on fire or that a screwdriver is being driven through it. Those lovely hairy toes the nurses said were such a good sign when they said I was type 2 have turned out to be a nightmare since my system recovered from the near death DKA.
I am a programmer and problem solver so of course have put a lot of thought into our condition, I use Diasend with the diabetic nurses at my clinic ( oddly the doctors do not get access to the data). I need to telephone or email the clinic to tell them I have updated my stuff as diasend do not inform the clinic of any updates by patients... I have spoken to diasend, but they will not add a simple email to attached clinics to the software... so if any one has a PC and would like to automate the process for themselves I have a solution that I am happy to share. Please message me or whatever you do on this forum if you would like the solution.

Hi Bill
Welcome to the forum. You have certainly been through the mill, but I am pleased that you now have the correct diagnosis.

Like you I use Diasend to share data with my DSN/consultant. I tend to email them if I am particularly concerned about anything, which saves them checking things when I download and I am not worried about things. It is great that they can then look at the data and it saves me typing them into an email.
