I don't know why it has taken me so long to join a forum of fellow diabetics.

I am 30 years with type 1 now. My hba1c is 5.7 and I work hard to keep my numbers low in large part because I am fearful of the long term damage of high sugar levels. I am experiencing night time hypo problems which I have posted about on a new thread. Otherwise I imagine I am having the same issues as everybody else.

Happy to be here!

Welcome @bujanin, glad you have found us! It’s a great forum with loads of friendly and supportive people and plenty of knowledge and real life experiences. I’ve learnt loads from people on here, I think it’s easy to fall into a rut and make the same mistakes after a while so it’s refreshing to read of other peoples experiences and get ideas.

Welcome to the forum @bujanin

Sorry to hear about the hypos overnight.

I struggled with those myself for years, and looking back I didn’t realise the massive knock-on effect it had on my family.

But it can be fixed! I have massively reduced my exposure to hypos over the last 15 years or so, my hypo awareness has really sharpened up, and I get no severe hypos (needing 3rd party help) at all any more.

A huge part of the transformation for me was beginning to compare notes with others on online forums 🙂
