Relationship to Diabetes
Type 1
Hi,

I've been a type 1 diabetic for 20 years. I have recently started using the Dexcom One CGM and self-funding. This device has certainly given me hope and strength to keep fighting this condition. I've got an appointment with a diabetic consultant in November and hoping to get funding!

The best of luck!

As you've probably realised, this is the first time when you can reasonably expect the answer to be positive (indeed, your GP can and should prescribe this one even without your consultant).

Welcome to the forum @DiabeetusDad
Let us know how your appointment goes, and good luck with getting funding.

Hoping you get the nod in Dexcom One. It certainly seems to be one of the devices where the chances of securing a supply on prescription are significantly improved recently.

Hi, after some 18 months with Libre my Endo has recommended a change to Dexcom One. What phone do you use with this, please? Neither my old nor new Samsungs are compatible, so I've got to get a reliable 2nd hand phone; I'm SIM only, so can't wait for a contract change.

I use iPhone 8 fine with dexcom one. There’s probably a phone list online. There is a reader but it’s expensive.

Thank you @Lucyr , yes at £60 it is pricey, but probably cheaper than a replacement phone, which 'bugs' me since my current phone is well under a year old, wasn't cheap and I've finally got to terms with most of its capabilities. Also, I like the Libre reader in preference to my phone, for its simplicity and responsiveness. So this is something for me to explore; just irritated with myself for not thinking to look for this solution. Thanks again.
