At risk of diabetes
Hi everyone! I'm Jaff. Just wanted to introduce myself. Joined because I'm at a high risk of diabetes

Thanks

Welcome Jaff. Are you making some changes to try and reduce the risk?

Hi Lucyr, My doctor recommended changing my diet. I'm trying to reduce my total carb intake. I exercise regularly. But I can't quit smoking, trying every dayo_O

Well done on the changes. Your GP should be able to direct you to access some support with the stopping smoking, not something I’ve been through myself but I’ve heard it’s more effective to stop with the support of a stop smoking service rather than just trying to go it alone.

Welcome to the forum @JaffH

Sounds like you are off to a great start!

Do you have close members of your family who live with diabetes? How did you discover you were at increased risk of diabetes?

Have you had an HbA1c check (which is likely to be a number between 42 and 47)?

Hope the tweaks to your menu are going well. There‘s a low carb meal plan here which might give you some ideas
