Hi everyone,

I decided to join my first diabetes forum after recently starting on a pump. I am hoping to get some tips and insight into how others have got on. It is all very new after being on injections for the last few years but so far signs are good with my blood suagrs levels starting to become less erratic.
I look forward to hearing from others.

Hi John, welcome to the forum🙂 We have lots of pumpers here (see the Pumping section) so hopefully you will be able to share your experiences with them. Don't be afraid to leap right in with any questions you may have! How long have you been diagnosed and did it take a long time to get a pump? Hope you enjoy using the forum 🙂

Thank I will certainly ask away. I have had Type 1 diabetes for around 5 years now and have been waiting about 6 months to get a pump which was funded due to erratic control and problems with hypos which I am happy to say is already getting better.

Hi John,

Welcome to the mad house! I myself use a pump (Medtronic Veo to be precise) and have been on it just short of a month. It's helped me alot and I really hope it does for you what it has for me. It will take a while to get things sorted. A month in and I'm still making changes. We've got a fair few pumpers here so please ask anything.

Tom
