Relationship to Diabetes
Type 1
Hello Everyone
Im Mike 46 years old Type 1, I have had type 1 since I was 11 years old, so a fair amount of time and as yet havent had any complications. Feel free to ask any questions, I have a fair amount of knowledge now and I have never let Diabetes hold me back from doing anything, I spent a month back packing in the Burmese rainforset a few years ago, with no problems apart from my insulin got a little warm.
I have been trying to find a Diabetic Dating site and I cant find one, does anyone know of one, please let me know
All the best

Hi Mike, welcome to the forum 🙂 I'm not aware of any diabetes-specific dating sites I'm afraid, but obviously you can get to know other people with diabetes via forums. Any reason why you would want to narrow your search for a soulmate to diabetics?

Good point, however I think it might be a good idea, they would have a better understanding of diabetes and some of the complications associated with it, ie the odd mood swing etc and possibly even help them with there control if needed, just a thought

Hi Mike and a warm welcome to the forum, good luck with your quest for lurveee

Ps where better to find love then amongst a forum full of diabetics lol

Hiya but Hell!

I wouldn't want to live with anyone being as arsey as I am when I'm hypo!! ROFL

I have some VERY good friends I've met through forums who I'd happily keep as friends if they found a cure as we have a lot more in common than diabetes and that IS what finding a soulmate is all about really, in my book.

Bit like one of my hobbies LOL - naturism. What does one look at when speaking to a naturist of the opposite sex? Their faces, their eyes, just the same as if they had clothes. How big was his dick? No idea, I daresay it was there but frankly I never noticed ...... why would I, when the conversation was so interesting?

What do you like doing? Reading? - join or start a Book Club. Sport? - join a sports club. Cookery? - go to a cookery class - or whatever it is.

And another thing you need to know I'm afraid. You may well be an expert at dealing with your diabetes, and you probably know stuff that could help folk who don't know that thing or you've had a similar experience and can say what helped you overcome it, or whatever - but nobody is an expert at dealing with anyone else's diabetes, ever!

I don't think Mike ever claimed to be an expert on anyone's diabetes, just offered to share his knowledge as you and everyone else does.

Welcome to the forum Mike.

Hi Mike,
welcome to the forum. 🙂

No Robofski, I didn't partic mean on here, I meant were I to meet a new chap and he started trying to discuss how to treat my diabetes, that would be the last time I ever saw him.

A group of us asked our DSN who just happens to have been married to a T1 for over 25 years if she ever offered her hubby any advice. And the answer was a VERY firm "You've surely got to be joking? - NO WAY !" LOL
