Hi.

I'm new here and after pitching in to a few discussions I feel I should introduce myself formally.

Me summarised as below:
Age: 36
Diabetic since: March 1979
Location: North west England (Morecambe Bay Healthcare Trust)
Treatment: Recently joined the pumping world after moving slowly over time through the years from 1 to 2 to 4 to multiple daily injections via urine tests, glass syringes and metal injecting guns!
Online presence: seasidedave (here), @sowerbee (twitter), www.thetangerinediabetic.blogspot.com (blog). Obviously consistent branding is not my strength.

I think that's it and thank you for the warm welcome I've received.

Hi Dave I have said hello elsewhere, but I love the way you introduced yourself I reckon we should all do it that way lol.
Well you already know how great this place is so I dont have to convince you to stick around,One thing I will say is we do have regular meets on the forum all over the country so would be good to get to know fellow diabetics face to face x

Nice to see you Dave, welcome aboard....

Welcome Seasiderdave - great that you want to give details, and it's very helpful in some discussions, but some others have good reasons for not stating even their area or town, and not all are on Twitter / Facebook etc.

So, either approach is fine, although we discourage posters from posting their email addresses in public forums or using emails as user names.

Howdy Dave

Nice to have see you posting here, rather than just lurking in the shadows 😉

Trust Adam the pump is behaving. How are you finding things in the New Year? Have you got a decent pattern set up after the chaos of Christmas?

Hi Dave, welcome to the forum! 🙂 I have 'seen' you on Twitter so it's nice to know who is behind the name 🙂 I'm @ThreeSows, for obvious reasons (or not, actually! 🙂) The forum is @DSForumUK. Will go off now and check out your blog...

Thanks Copepod. Either approach is fine by me too. I decided last year that after 30-odd years of introverted discussion it was time to be a bit more open with everyone about my diabetes. And as a data analyst I know that if I wanted total privacy I'd need to stay in a room listening to R4 on my portable radio. 🙂

Northerner; small world time as I also follow you and might be approaching for some running advice shortly as after doing the London Marathon 3 years ago but with very haphazard control and MDI I've somehow agreed to do another in July but this time Adam (the pump) will be accompanying me on the way round. 😱
