Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
Hello everyone, I have T2 (maybe T1.5, awaiting results of c-peptide and GAD tests) and have been diagnosed for about two and a half years. I regularly use another forum too. Currently on Lantus, Humalog and Metformin but hoping to change to Levimir as I've been putting on weight since changing to Lantus from Humilin I. Still struggling a bit to have stable BG's, but down to 1 or 2 hypos a week rather than the 1 or 2 a day I was experiencing. With the help of the other forum, I have accepted my condition and onwards and upwards for me now, although it has been a long, dark on occasions, journey.

Hiya,
welcome to the forum 🙂

Welcome to the forum Amethyst 🙂

Hi and a warm welcome to the forum Ameshyst

Another warm welcome....🙂

Thanks for the welcome

Thanks everyone, this is a massive learning curve and I'm still way down the bottom but finding out more every day.

Hi Amethyst, welcome to the forum 🙂 Sorry to hear you have been struggling, I hope things improve for you from now on 🙂 I'm often surprised at how many people we get who may be Type 1.5 - it seems much more common than you might imagine. It's thought that I had a slow-onset, since I had symptoms for at least 18 months before diagnosis, although I only realised it with hindsight. Interestingly, I started on 20 units of lantus four years ago, but have recently stopped needing it altogether! Nothing about diabetes is straightforward, it seems!

I look forward to hearing more from you and hope you find the forum interesting and useful - plus we do try to have a bit of fun too! 🙂

Hi Amethyst

Welcome to the forum from me too 🙂

Mike
