Hi

I'm T1 Diabetic and like everyone I'm concerned about the implications of COVID-19. I was wondering what people think of the Government's latest advice regards social distancing for people like us who are in the higher risk category.

There are already many threads on this subject but I think it very much depends on the individual's circumstances as to how people feel.
I have Type 1 and asthma and currently exhibiting a dry cough which I have had for about 2 weeks now which is not responding to asthma treatment and whilst I very much doubt it is C19, I am isolating. I am retired with no dependents and I live rurally and I am an introvert, so social distancing is very easy for me. I am otherwise fit and healthy and personally I have more concerns about the risk of the breakdown of society due to economic loss than the actual threat of the virus itself..... But that is just my take on it.

Yes I think tonight’s announcement has raised quite a few questions!

there’s an information thread in the general messageboard which will be updated when the official guidance becomes clearer.

How long have you been living with T1, and do you have other complicating factors such as asthma, elevated blood pressure or a history of experiencing DKA?

This announcement seems to have caused more confusion, rather than make things clearer.

Hi

I've been T1 for 14 Years, no complications, pretty fit, regular at the gym, I'm 54. I can work from home up to a point but I'm not entirely sure that that was the message given today.

Hello guys
After watching the news conference earlier wondering if anyone can clarify something, the medic guy said about anyone who had flu vaccine are included in the ‘at risk’ category. I am type 1 diabetic and am 42. Should I just go about business as usual or should I be staying in whenever possible?

Hope it helps. 🙂
