Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
Hi all I am new to the forum but have been struggling with type 2 diabetes for 12 years now. I was diagnosed when I was pregnant with my youngest son and ever since I have been up and down. As of today I am back to struggling for the last couple of years as of one thing or another and today decided to take the leap of trying to get myself back to being healthier and happier me. Going back to basics for me

Welcome to the forum, this link may help you get on track, whether it is suitable will depend on what medication you may be taking but worth a look anyway for the good information, meal plans and some do's and don'ts. https://lowcarbfreshwell.com/
Ideas have changed as to how powerful diet and exercise can be rather than adding more and more meds so a new way of looking at where you are may help you with a fresh start, as you say going back to basics.
Keeping a food diary of everything you eat and drink with an estimate of the carbs would help you see where some savings can be made to bring you closer to 'no more than 130g per day' as a good starting point and what the Freshwell program is based on.

HI @Mrserts45 welcome to the forum(s), sound like you know what you want and this is a great site to discuss what you can do and learn from others and their experience. The LearningZone is a great place to get the standard information nad the people in the forum can help you get the best from it.

Welcome to the forum @Mrserts45

Thanks for sharing your story so far. You aren’t alone in realising you need to give your diabetes management a bit of a reset, or to bring your diabetes more into front of mind. I’ve certainly been through one or two of those in my time!

Sounds like you’ve had a tough time in the past, but it’s never too late to make positive changes, and what matters more is not the struggles you have had before, but what you do next.

Great to hear you have decided to move towards a healthier and happier you. Let us know how things go <3
