Hi all, just found this forum while hunting for a volunteering role and wanted to say hello!

I am Type 1 since 1987, currently navigating HRT and ADHD meds and using closed loop hybrid pump (Omnipod & Dexcom)
I've got 3 healthy sons, now 8, 11 and 13years, and been using an insulin pump around 15years.
Lots of experience navigating life and mental health in a medical model.
Hope everyone is feeling ok today 🙂

Welcome @SkidooE from another Type 1 pumper 🙂 I’ve been pumping for 20 years or so. I’m lucky enough to have the Dexcom G7, which I love. I chose it over a loop (my pump only loops with the G6 at the moment) and because I wasn’t convinced about looping anyway.

What kind of volunteering are you hoping to do?

Welcome @SkidooE from a relative newbie lumper compared to you (only 12 years under my belt)

How is the looping working for you. I am also on HCL and have found it amazing, leaving me time when I can ignore my diabetes and let Hermione (my pump with her sensor) sort things out and do lots of the thinking that I used to do. I particularly like sleeping through the night.

I look forward to hearing more from you.

Hi and welcome from me too.
I am very happy on MDI with Levemir which I absolutely love and Fiasp which is gradually growing on me, but it took a lot of frustration to transition to it from Novo(not so)Rapid.
HRT patches have been a revelation for me, so I hope you get similar benefits.

Good to have your very significant experience added to the forum and look forward to getting to know you better

Welcome to the forum @SkidooE

Glad you have joined us!

You’ve a few years’ head start on me pump-wise and diabetes-wise, bit then I’ve always been a bit of a slow starter :D

How do you find the Omnipod/Dex combo?

Thanks for all the hellos!
I actually really love the HCL Dex combo, although it doesn't quite give the results it promises (who does?)
I've found it takes some stress away from the responsibility and blame/ anxiety I've been carrying for decades.
Exercise is still tricky, but no tubes and less admin on the whole, so much more practical.
