Hi Luke, Welcome
I'm type2 but the experts on Type 1 will no doubt be along shortly.

Hi all,

Welcome to the forum that no one wants to need to join.
It is a shocker being diagnosed with diabetes. I was diagnosed with T1 at 53.
There is a lot to learn very quickly and a lot of stuff to deal with.
However there is plenty of help available on here.

In the first few months, as the DSNs help you sort out your insulin doses, your levels will be a bit erratic, so you will need to be patient. You May also have some beta cells still hiding away, and after having a bit of rest whilst you inject, they may decide to confuse things every now and then. This is rather stupidly called the honeymoon period.

What insulins have they started you on?
There are lots of different options, so it will help us help you if we know what you are using.

If you have any questions just ask. On here no questions are considered silly, so just ask.

Hi Luke and welcome to the gang.
This forum is an invaluable source of knowledge and support so if you need any advice just ask, and someone will almost certainly be able to offer some guidance (or hugs if they are required :D)
