Hi

was diagnosed 2 weeks ago with type 2 diet only, i have been trying to do low GI diet, and lost 7lb in 2 weeks, i joined slimming world last night and although i have done SW before and lived on the green days high carbs etc, i can no longer do this, so i am conufused how SW can work for me, any advice would be gratefully recieved,
i dont get the food optomising part at all...think i was having a thick day when she was talking about that lol
can you stick to the green days but have low GI carbs, but everything else stays the same? ei fruit veg, yogurts. bread etc?
do you have to portion size the free foods? i have a tiny bit of dark chocolate on a night ..3 squares of bournville thats all the sweet stuff i have had,
please please help!!!
if you are on it and can give me examples to what you eat on green days and red i would be gratefull,
and i am so pleased o have found you all

Hi Michelle, welcome to the forum 🙂 Can't advise of SW diet I'm afraid, but what you need to bear in mind is that you need to make sure your blood sugars are as stable and in range as you can manage. If the food choices available to you on the SW diet do not allow you to do this then the diet is not appropriate for you, I would say. Hopefully, some of our members who have followed this diet will be able to share how they overcame the problems! 🙂

I would suggest looking at the 'Useful Links' thread for a couple of suggestions of good books about the GL Diet which may be helpful in finding substitute foods.
