Hello Everyone! happy new years to all.
My name is Tahminar ( Ta-mee-na ).Currently waiting to be a part of the community as a moderator. Really excited to meet you all. My dad also got diagnosed with diabetes today so it means even more for me to get to know your experiences.

Hi and welcome.

Sorry to hear about your Dad's diagnosis but you are in the right place to gain knowledge and practical tips to support him as no doubt he will be feeling a bit overwhelmed by the diagnosis as many of us were to start with. I appreciate that you are here to moderate but do shout up if you have any questions.

Brilliant that you are able to support your Dad, would he visit the forum on his own account as he may find that useful rather than it being second hand.
Would you like to say a bit about yourself, are you yourself diabetic?

Unfortunately, my parents do not speak English, so I usually manage everything on their behalf. Diabetes has been prevalent in my family for generations. I am not currently diabetic, there’s a significant likelihood that I could develop it as I age. To reduce this risk, I’m working on maintaining a healthy diet and incorporating regular exercise into my routine.

Welcome to the forum Tahminar. Sorry to hear about your Dad's diagnosis. Feel free to ask any questions on his behalf. I joined the forum last year a few months after diagnosis. It is a great source of information, advice and support from people who understand the issues of living with diabetes. I continue to learn so much as I come to terms with this life long condition and how it affects me and my immediate family.

It’s comforting to know there’s a community here that understands what we’re going through. I’ll definitely take advantage of the wealth of knowledge and experiences shared in this forum.

Welcome @Tahminar Mahmud, lovely to have more people helping on this wonderfully helpful forum!
