Hello all,

My name is Joe Handsaker and I’m from the Institute for Biomedical Research into Human Movement and Health at the Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU). I’m part of a research group currently looking into the effects of diabetes and peripheral neuropathy on the way in which people walk and perform other everyday tasks such as walking up and down stairs and standing up from a chair. Our research will then look at how a simple exercise-based program may improve the performance of these tasks, potentially improving the lives of people with diabetes and neuropathy.

We are currently recruiting people to our study, and are looking for people from the Manchester area who may be interested in participating in our study. I can send further details in the form of a participant information leaflet, and if interested in participating we can provide transport to and from the research lab.

Thanks for reading.
