Had my pump appointment today, now pumping already. 4 of us in a room with 2 dsn's and a roche training guy. Taught how to fill vials of insulin, attach canulas. Basal profile set up by a clever computer, as a starting point, lots of info to read. Got a new meter with the pump same as expert but obviously a combo one which connects to the pump. Can't even feel it connected to me at all. will be strange not injecting/correcting with a pen but not something I will miss. Very clever settings on the pump to allow temp basals/extended bolusus. Will stick to original settings for a while and seeing dsn next week to see if any changes need to be made. Only been using it for a few hours and wouldn't swap back for anything. However, she did say if pump doesn't suit any of us no problem to back on mdi, (which I woul't lol). all in all a very productive morning and have to say a very helpful roche expert . Happy days.

That's terrific news brett, glad to hear you are getting on with it so well already - long may it continue! 🙂

Sounds like a good morning for you. If you need any help or advice there are mant experienced pumpers here and someone is sure to be able to help. I'm sure it will work well for you

Thanks northener and caroline, I'm sure I will have lots of questions over the next few days, just glad I found this site, probably my best resource, thanks to everyone here 🙂

Your day sounds almost identical t on my first day on my Medtronic Pump, no Medtronic Rep though......

I attended the clinic for 4 days in total where me and 3 others all trained together and could discuss our experiences with each other.

An essential part of the pumping transition to be honest. Without it your gubbed.....

Very jealous......

But have fun 🙂

That's fantastic news Brett. I got my Roche combo pump in November and it is the bestest thing ever

Good news Brett, I assume you've got the Roche Combo?......it does take a while to get used to ZERO injections! :D

Hi Brett, i went through all that yesterday so i know how your day has gone. good to hear your news, hope all goes well with the pump.

Thanks everyone, so far do good 🙂

Fantastic Brett. This will change your life. My daughter now aged 13 has been pumping for over 6 years and there is no going back for her (or me). 🙂

Glad it's going well. You will be amazed how much difference it makes. I was actually really excited when I used tbr to go for a walk rather than eat sweets. All these little things help
