Relationship to Diabetes
Type 1
Hi my name is Stuart, I am a type 1 diabetic I was diagnosed way back now in 1982 when I was 4 years old. Just started running so joined on here to see if or how people with diabetes cope with there sugar levels and running, as my wife had to call the paramedics due to me having a hypo.

Welcome to the forum @stuart Sweet. Sorry to hear about your severe hypo following your run.

It will be easier for people to give you some ideas about managing exercise if we know how you treat your diabetes. Are you on Multiple Daily Injections or using a pump? When I am diong exercise I find that how I manage it depends on how long I will be exercising, and also whether it is before a meal or soon after.

I certainly increased my level of exercise and my confidence when doing this once I was using the Libre sensor. These have been in the news over the last couple of days as there is now be access in all areas, for those that meet the criteria.

I look forward to hearing more about your Diabetes regime. You also might like to start a thread in the exercise board of the forum where people specifically look to Support those embarking on exercise.
