H Victor - you go back a lot further than me, but I absolutely loved the pee test kit I was issued with in 1972 - not the testing you understand - it was the Clinitest kit itself I liked.

A beautifully made wooden mini test tube rack, the mini test tube, and the dropper (10 drops of water, 5 of wee, throw a boiling tablet in and place it in the rack (held it once, you don't do that twice!) - and see what colour it goes. Mine was usually orange - not my favourite colour before than, but definitely not thereafter - when it should have been a lovely shade of blue ......

Saw a more modern one some years after - no wooden rack - replaced by a cheap and nasty grey plastic thing - which wasn't whatsoever aesthetically pleasing on one's bathroom window ledge!
