I saw this on the BBC this morning. Does anyone know, will this be replacing the table of nutritional values on the back or is this just an additional thing on the front of the packaging?

IMHO a better thing would be for coffee chains to have *any* nutrition information on their packaging, and to force all companies to give the information per portion not allow some to get away with giving it per 100g. This would avoid much guesswork and mental arithmetic for us.

Just on the front with a traffic light system......nutritional info still on the back. Annoying that carbs are not included on the front.....cereal and bread manufacturers will be pleased! 🙄

It's daft, isn't it? I'm sure we're the only demographic group that has to make actual potentially life-threatening mathematical decisions based on nutritional information - and the bit we actually need isn't included! No-one is going to put themselves in danger of death by misjudging the amount of fat in a food by 10g but for us it's a serious issue.

And it's only voluntary!

My son has to watch his salt intake too, and it's a constant irritation that most packaging only lists the sodium (approx 1/3 of the salt equivalent), and that can be per portion, per 100g or any other way the manufacturer likes!

Gah! That really winds me up too. Especially since the advice is usually given in 'grams of salt per day'.
