Those nice people at Accu Chek sent me a new testing meter today. It was a surprise. The courier left the parcel with a neighbour and i wasnt even expecting a parcel. It's the Accu Chek Mobile and it came with a cassette that can do 50 tests. I haven't tested for ages and I'm trying to get back on top of my D again. So the new meter is a prod to me to get back on track with the testing and get the BG under control again. 🙂

Have fun testing & hope it helps you get back on track 🙂

You using multiclix or fastclix in your lancet pen?

I had a delivery from abbots today in the form of a blood ketone machine (but I was at work so have to wait til Saturday to go collect it)

Maryanne,
I have the expert meter & it takes all the hard work out of everything.
You programme your ratios for the time blocks so when you put your carbs in, it tells you how much insulin to have.
Plus setting for exercise, stress, illness etc.

It's really helpful, trust me you'll like it once you get used to it 🙂

Fastclix Laura. I'm a bit scared to start testing again. It'll tell me I've been a bad girl!!! 😱

Take it as a fresh start 🙂 The mobile is a nice meter, it has one little niggle in that on some occasions it gives an error not enough blood when you have applied enough.

The fast clix lancing device is very gentle on the fingers, one of the best lancing devices around.

Don't forget to register the meter so you can order the free case for it. 🙂

Yes I will register it...need the case! 🙂

Glad to hear that you are getting back on track. Even if your meter says a number that you don't like because it is too high you know that you can get it lower, so don't stress about it. It may take a while but you know that you can do it. Well done for being positive. We are all here to support you as you try and then succeed in taking control again. Good luck 🙂

I've had the mobile meter for aaaaages - I like it because everything is contained together, and there's no need to throw used strips away as the meter cassette winds it all up.

Its a little bit heavy, but would recommend!
