Why does it take too long for the Membership Pack to arrive - myself and hubby need educating on what I should be eating.
It shouldn't take 3 to 4 weeks to produce a New Member Pack, especially when people need the information quickly.

Thyroid problems, Fatty Liver and Irregular Heartbeat. Recent blood test result - Pre Diabetes, which was a total shock.
Always had very low cholesterol levels and now have to completely re-think my eating habits.

Welcome to the forum.
You will find lots of useful information by looking at the links on the forum and on the DUK main site where there are menu ideas and by registering for the learning zone (orange tab at the top) there are many links there.
Ideas for modifying your diet if you are interested in a low carb approach is this link. https://lowcarbfreshwell.com/
If prediabetic you will likely only need to make some modest changes but the nearer to the threshold of a diabetes diagnosis of 47mmol/mol the more work you will need to do.
Some discussion in another thread mentions that for more mature people the thresholds should be more lenient.

I don't understand why anybody joining the forum would wait for a membership pack.
The charity and the forum are different things.
You don't need to become a member of the charity to use the forum - likewise with the 'red' forum, forum members share tips and what works for us. Not always what the organisation/charity promotes. In many cases almost the opposite of what the charity promoted.

Hello @TeresaM-19 ,

I am sorry about the time frame on our welcome packs. It usually takes a month to arrive. If it doesn't, please reach out to myself, @Jessica DUK, or @Ciara DUK if it exceeds that time frame.

No need to wait, you can educated yourself on the info freely available on this site, the nhs website, you tube etc etc.
Bless their hearts, DUK don't make you be a member, pay your cash, and only then send you out info on how to deal with your diabetes. The info is out there freely available. And 1000s of years of lived experience on here if you have any questions.
So, welcome, and feel free to ask away.

Some of us like to support the charity Diabetes U.K. They’re funding a lot of research to help people with diabetes. The membership pack and Balance are nice bonuses.
