Hello. Welcome to the board 🙂

Hello my name is Zara and my partner is type one his name is Luke I am his career we are just look for somewhere we can talk to people that understands what we are going through and for advice and help as my partner had bad time with his diabetes he is now part blind and we are trying for a family
I'm sorry to hear that your partner has been having a bad time with his diabetes :( How are things now for him? Is he getting lots of help and support from his healthcare team, and has he been diagnosed long? You're both very welcome here, and if we can help you we will do our best 🙂

If you are trying for a family, it might be worth contacting the Diabetes UK Helpline service, as they may be able to direct you to some good resources to help with the problems you have been experiencing. Details are here:

Hello Zara and Luke and welcome to the forum.
Sounds like you both are having a really rough time and we will all do what we can to help x

Is there anything in particular e.g. food choices, carb counting that you are struggling with?

What foods best he don't really like eating in the morning and been looking at carb counting but with his eyes bad he struggles a lot with things I do most of his test for him needles for him it's so hard doing it on my own with him ☹️X

What insulin regime is he on? i.e. does he have fixed doses at certain times of the day or does he need to inject before each meal and calculate himself how much he needs to take?

Hello Zara and Luke and welcome to the Forum. I am so sorry to hear about your sight loss Luke. You could try contacting organisations that help blind people too so that you could obtain advice on that as well as the diabetes. I think you can get help from them if you have had some sight loss, you don't have to be registered blind I don't think.

Everyone is very helpful here so seek as much advice as you want to.
