Relationship to Diabetes
Type 1
Hello, im siobhan, 20 years old.
I was diagnosed Type 1 13 years ago this coming August. My diabetes is relatively well controlled, the difficulty for me is finding the balance between uni, working shifts and going out at night, like most others my own age!
Mainly just looking to interact with fellow diabetics and share experiences and knowledge.
Thanks!

Hi there Siomo and a warm welcome to the forum.I can totally understand your frustration its difficult in life juggling things but with diabetes to boot its twice as hard, i am a type 2 so our regimes are very much diffirent so i will leave you i the capable hands of those amongst us that are type 1

Thank You very much. Indeed it is, adding diabetes into the mix does not make for an easy, stress free life at all!

Hi Siobhan, welcome to the forum 🙂 We have quite a few people here your age, so I'm sure you'll have a lot in common with them! Are you on a pump or injections?

Please just pitch in if you have any questions or want a good rant! Everyone is very friendly with all sorts of experiences to relate, including a lot of humour as well as the other stuff 🙂

Thanks, Im on injections - 5 daily (2 levomir, 3 novorapid).
Thats really good to hear, it can be rather difficult to find a support group or the like for my age group sometimes.
im quite sure the forum will be a great help to me, very glad to have joined!

Never enough hours in the day, diabetes or not! I did my BSc before diagnosis and MSc after, and worked shifts and did lots of sports & socialising (well pub visits, mainly) during both - it can be done, and graduating with good time management skills is a bonus. Just ask about anything - we'll try to help.

Welcome to the forum Siobhan 🙂
