Hi New to the Forum and hoping I can get help and help if I can!
Hi, and welcome. Are you recently diagnosed or have you been living with T2 for a while?

Welcome @jackabea 🙂 What help do you need? Ask anything you want, no matter how small.

Hi Inca, nothing specific atm but there are one or two things that need addressing, I am due to see my Nurse in a few days if I get bo response I will come on here for advise. Thanks

Welcome @jackabea to the forum. Lots of knowledge available from the hive mind on here. As someone who has been living with diabetes for over 3 decades you probably have a lot of experience to share if you wish.
Always useful to get fresh insights on the daily issues of living with diabetes.

Welcome @jackabea to the forum - any help you need or questions you have (however "silly" or trivial they may seem), please ask away - there are decades of experience on this forum and everyone genuinely wants to help 🙂

Attitudes have changed in how best to manage Type 2 as it is now recognised how powerful dietary changes can be rather than adding more and more medication, not that some people will need the help of one or more o the available medications but even they usually need attention to diet to work most effectively.
People can make suggestions that would be appropriate if you say what medication you may be taking if that would be something that would be helpful.
You can just look around the forum and you will probably find some links to various dietary plans. Welcome anyway.

You can also just browse the forum or chat in threads 🙂 Sometimes it’s nice to be among people who understand and empathise.

Hi thanks for your reply, my meds are as follows
Metformin 850mg
Dapagolifzin 10 mg
Losartin 25 mg
Alogliptin 25 mg
Provastatin 10 mg
Glicozide 40 mg NEW, has recently been introduced and has had a massive effect on lowering my blood sugars.
I have dieted in the past to no avail However, I am 11st 10 5ft 8in and not considered overweight
Going back some 15 years I was 15 st which is good news but strange as I don't seem to have mad a conscious aim to lose weight, but other areas of my life have an effect on me recently. Jack

That is quite a bit of medication, is it being effective at keeping your blood glucose at an acceptable level, depending on your diet there may be some tweaks that would help if not.
The problem is people often look upon it as dieting whereas it is more about finding a way of eating that is enjoyable otherwise it is not sustainable and it has to become a new way of eating for life.
I have found the Freshwell ethos a very doable way of eating and need no meds. https://lowcarbfreshwell.com/. you may find some ideas there but with your meds then just be cautious of too low carb.
