New member of the forum. T1 for 60 years. See diabetes as a thing that happens rather than a lifestyle or hobby. No significant side effects to date.
Hoping to ask questions occasionally and contribute when useful.
Still optimistic, working and riding my motorcycles at 67 years old and no intention of stopping any time soon.

Welcome to the forum @Guzzibrat🙂 You're clearly an old hand at managing your diabetes so I'm sure you'll be able to contribute lots. Any questions, there will always be someone here who can answer them.
Great to hear that you are not suffering any significant complications and can still do the things you enjoy.
You have no doubt seen a lot of changes in diabetes management over all those years time and hopefully now benefit from some of the latest technology. Are you on a pump or still injections.
I had to laugh when you said you don't regard it as a lifestyle or "hobby".... I can't imagine many people actively wanting to participate in diabetes, but I have to say that from my own experience, being diagnosed late in life, it has come with some positives for me.
What sort of motor cycle(s) do you have?

I didn't think anything of your question @rebrascora because I've never heard of a MotoGuzzi until I read @everydayupsanddowns post. I've led a sheltered life!
My cousin liked and owned Guzzis (and could ride too, well remember him telling my auntie he was sorry he was a bit later than he told her, "but he'd stopped to have a nice chat with a motorbike policeman on the way".) Ooopsie!
Me being a lightweight pillion passenger if husband had to brake any of his bikes hard I very often slid up his back when he did, so it took me a lot of effort to stay glued to my seat and attempting to look relaxed as we passed said boy in blue!
