Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
Hi all I have type 2 diabetes and I’ve just joined this evening and am looking forward to being a member of this supportive group x Jo

Hi Jo, welcome to the forum, would you like to say a bit more about yourself, are you newly diagnosed and how are you managing your condition, diet, medication and what your HbA1C which will indicate how much you need to do. There are lots of supportive folk here so do ask any questions you might have.
Have a read around the forum but bear in mind that there is a mixture of people and the way they manage their diabetes will be different but I hope you will be able to get some hints and tips that will apply to yourself.

Welcome to the forum @Jo-anna7

How long have you been living with T2? And are you on any meds to help with your blood glucose management?

We have lots of friendly members here who can share experiences with you or just be on hand if you need to offload 🙂

Thank you Leadinglights for getting back to me. Previous to groundbreaking cancer treatments I was pre diabetic. But was diagnosed about a year a go. My hba1c recently was 4.5 and I’ve been on metformin since my diagnosis. I’m in remission (wonderful nhs) but recently I’ve found my unhealthyness overwhelming and am over eating and have put on more weight. I walk quite a lot and have joined an exercise class but need to take matters in hand. I’m an emotional eater I think and need a kick up the bum

You might then find a low carbohydrate regime suits you as it focuses on real food and you can still have very enjoyable meals as it is only carbohydrates that need to be limited but there are plenty of substitutes which are even more tastty than sugary carbs. Have a look at this link. https://lowcarbfreshwell.co.uk/
