new member with problems

i am type 2, very confused and frightened by it all.

i took a reading last night and again this morning.the one this morning was much higher.Any idea why please?

in between 2 gi readings yesterday i had only a glass of mineral water.my second count had increased a lot.Any idea why please?

everything i do to control my type 2 diabetes seems to go against what i have read/been told by my doctor.

this is why i am confused.

can anyone help me please?

i feel that i am just waiting for a heart attack/stroke/death

Hi billko, welcome to the forum 🙂 What you are describing sounds very much like 'dawn phenomenon'. This is where your liver decides to give you a boost from its stores of glucose in order to give you energy to start your day. Unfortunately, as diabetics, this is something we could do without! What were your numbers on this occasion? Have a read of the following:

How long have you been diagnosed? Are you on any medication for your diabetes? Try not to worry, there are lots of friendly, experienced people here who can probably answer many of the questions you may have, and allay your fears - so ask away! 🙂

i have been diagnosed about 5 years now.

i take metformin 50mg morning and night and glimeprida 2mg morning and 1 mg at night.

i have read the article you recommended and that makes sense.
