Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
Hi, I have recently been diagnosed with T2 diabetes and am quite anxious about everything. I do have a question about my feet, I already have numbness in my toes and feet and suffer from restless legs quite badly, I have never had my feet checked - should I raise this now with my GP or wait for my next review?

Hey Karen, welcome I would agree with the post above but just to let you know I had major problems with RLS, after trying a few treatments I take 600mg of Gabapentin for about a year now and I haven’t had any problems since a week after starting the tablets, apparently they need a few days to work, might be worth discussing with your doctor if you had not already tried them

Hi Paul, thank you for your advice, I will speak to my GP and definitely will ask about this medication as it is really bad at the moment.

I know how bad RLS is, had it for a few years I also broke my leg this year and they help with the pain of that too best of luck with the tablets, let us know if they work for you

Thank you for the advice and I will do, hope your broken leg is better!

It’s taking a while, I did it in February but some promising signs, it’s one of the diabetic facets that healing can take a while, at the moment the leg is full of metal but hopefully I will get it out after Xmas CBD4A8D5-328D-40B7-BF98-45E7658C4D7A.jpeg

It’s a fine looking leg all the same lol

I think I’m the only guy welcoming COVID I work in aerospace so all my customers are cutting back on contractors so I’m enjoying the quiet time healing the leg, always a silver lining

Well that's a positive for you then, I work in the same industry at Rolls-Royce plc - it is all a bit doom and gloom, but I'm in the offices and we have been working from home since the original lockdown - it has been a strange year!

Hope you can get hold of your GP without too much bother @Karen44 and get some help with your RLS.

Welcome to the forum 🙂
