Hi, I am Piseth, 32 years old. I was diagnosed as type 2 diabetes for last 2 years. Recently I am using Metformin. I feel worry so much about this disease. Please everyone tell me more about how long the complication of this disease gonna happens? and life expectancy of diabetes. Thanks for your support.
Hi Piseth, welcome to the forum
🙂 Please do not worry. The fact that you are here and seeking help shows that you are taking your diabetes seriously, and that is a very good sign that you are willing to learn about the condition and how you can manage it well so that you avoid the complications
🙂 They are certainly not inevitable, and there is no reason you can't live a long and happy life in the same way as you might have without diabetes
🙂 The key thing is to be aware of how different food can affect your blood sugar and to experiment in order to find what things your body is able to cope with well
🙂 The most likely things to affect your blood sugar levels are carbohydrates, like rice, potatoes, bread, baked goods etc., so it can help from the start to minimise your consumption of these. This does not mean you have to cut them out altogether, but consume them only in the quantities that your body can manage well. In order to find ou how well your body is coping with different meal choices you will need to test your blood sugar levels before and after eating using a blood glucose monitor. Have a read of
Maggie Davey's letter to discover how to select food for a healthy diet for diabetes, and

🙂
Please let us know if you have any questions and we will be very happy to help
🙂 And please don't worry about the possibility of complications, the future is in your hands and you have a great deal of control over it
🙂
