Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
Hi, I’m a newbie!.
I was diagnosed with type 2 in December & despite reading most nights to try and feel more confident in managing diabetes I still don’t feel in control. I’m hoping that I can learn a lot from people actually dealing with diabetes every day. Thanks for allowing me to join.

When you were aged 3, you couldn't read or write. By the time you were 6 you'd learned to do both and found them useful!

Learning new stuff simply takes time - so nobody (with any sense) expects you to know much at all about diabetes generally let alone your own, at the moment.

Cut yourself some slack - and keep asking, the same thing multiple times if you need to! Remember - you're only aged 3 and a couple of weeks!

Hi Berniegoldfish, welcome to the forum!

I always say this but it's totally natural to be a bit overwhelmed, there's a lot to take in!

I have found this page super helpful to understand the basics so do take a look. https://www.diabetes.org.uk/guide-to-diabetes.

The forum has a wealth of knowledge also so have a look around and let us know if you have any questions.

Hi @Berniegoldfish, welcome from me too.

This is a great place to find information and support. Don't be afraid to ask 🙂
