Hi folks, I'm new here and I've been diagnosed with T1 for just about a year now (just turned 40).
I'm about to go on a closed loop pump (Ypso) but it's all blowing my mind a bit to be honest.

Sorry to hear about your diagnosis, but what an amazing time to get T1. Are you on injections at the moment?

Starting on an insulin pump can feel a bit mind-bending to begin with, but take things step by step, and give yourself time to adjust and adapt.

You might feel a bit uncertain at the start, but you’ll probably find some quick wins, conveniences, and the benefit of always having bolus insulin available for fractions of units too.

We’ve lots of experienced pump and loop users so feel free to ask LOTS of questions in the pump section.

Yep I’m on trurapi and abasaglar.
My pump arrived today and I’ve bought a cheap android phone to get me started
 
When I was starting on an insulin pump, an experienced pump user suggested buying a copy of "Pumping Insulin" by John Walsh and Ruth Roberts, which I found really helpful. It covers lots of the adjustment and tweaks you can make on manual pumps (not all of which are relevant on a hybrid loop). Though I think understanding the basics is really helpful - especially if you need to 'fly manual' at any point!

I would imagine you could possibly get a copy from your local library?

Or maybe pick up an older version online (I think mine was something like the 5th Ed, and much of the basic info still feels relevant)
