I have a blood sugar level of 600, dry skin and mouth , cracked lips, feel sick and have thrush. Do I need to see a dr or will it all just settle down

Definitely need to see a Doc, and quickly, the Thrush will not clear up on its own, and, depending on your medication, especially in combination with the dry skin, could lead to Fournier's gangrene. Which, believe me, is not only as unpleasant as it sounds, but also a life threatening condition.

Along with a little about yourself, the following questions could help us to help you:

• Are you currently seeing a Doctor?
• What medications have you been prescribed?
• How long have you been diagnosed?
• What other medical conditions do you have?
• How are you coping with your diabetes?

I know it can be difficult to reach out and open up to people, but we are a very diverse, non-judgemental community, with a wide range of backgrounds and ages, so, in this case, I would definitely make the effort.

I take glyclcide, and 100 units of insulin at night.
I also have an infected ingrown toenail that has no feeling in it. I’m a bit of a mess really

You almost certainly need antibiotics for the toe infection and then get it sorted by a chiropodist, but more importantly you need urgent help to address your very high blood glucose level. So go to A & E but if you are not in the UK then contact whatever Emergency Dept you have where you are.

I obviously don't know how long term your depression has been? But, from what you have told us about your general physical condition, even if you were previously the happiest, most cheerful person in the world, this will result in deep depression. So, getting treatment for your immediate medical needs will actually help your depression.

To reiterate: the thrush + dry skin; the infected ingrown toenail, and the loss of feeling in your feet are not only alarming, but could deteriorate quickly into life threatening conditions and need urgent medical attention. The extremely high BG levels, are already life threatening.

So, if you get the immediate medical treatment we are strongly urging you to seek, this will go a long way to helping lift your depression.
