I am new here but not to diabetes. I was diagnosed in April 2003 and currently use a Medtronic Revel and the Dexcom G4 CGM. I live across the pond in the US.

Welcome to the forum Grammabear 🙂 How have things been for you since diagnosis, and how long have you been on the pump? Pumps are very rare for T2s here in the UK, and CGMS even rarer, it will be interesting to hear your experiences 🙂

Alan - Gramma is definitely a Type 1 !

(Hi Kathy - this is Sedge wearing a different hat, LOL)

Welcome to the forum Grammabear 🙂

Hi Sedge - tis always good to wear different hats.

I started on the pump (OmniPod) in 2006. When I reached the age of 65 in 2010 I was required to change to a 'traditional pump' because Medicare does not recognize the OmniPod as a viable option for people to use when pumping. I honestly did not have a good experience with the OmniPod although I know other people who absolutely love it.

I never anticipated that I would enjoy using the traditional pump, but I surely do. I am grateful for the online people I've met that have shared their knowledge with me. Thank You for your welcome.

Hi Kathy and welcome to the forum 🙂

Hi Grammabear

I only have the one hat 😉

Thank you for the welcomes. I like the avatar picture with the little pig. Years ago my Grandmother used to raise them on her farm. I always loved the wee ones, but you had to be careful not to touch them when their Mother was watching you.
