Hi.

I was diagnosed in (I think) about 1990 and tried to keep active (cyling in summer, cycling or running or XC-skiing in winter) until Feb'98 when I was knocked off my bike and spent most of that year at RNH Stanmore with an incomplete spinal cord injury. I was lucky - able to walk with crutches when discharged. Never got beyond needing two sticks, lots of nerve issues from the injury.

Since diagnosis I've usually had to take a snack before bed to prevent night-time hypos. For many years my insulin requirements have changed frequently.

My comments on the Libre/2 are not for this thread.

edit - typo : that's why my website about fonts is typosetting.co.uk, my typing is now poor

@Ford Prefect welcome to the forum. I am type 2 and still learning therefore no advice to you. However my late Dad's first car in the sixties was a green ford prefect. There still a few photos of it as we children were always on car cleaning duties. The next car when we hit teens was a Cortina estate.

Welcome to the forum @Ford Prefect

Hope your diabetes management is froody.

Sorry to hear about your bike collision and the continuing challenges that has brought you.

I think we might have been diagnosed within a few months of each other!
