Health bosses say they are in the “final stages” of finding a new provider of GP services at St Austell’s biggest practice which suddenly terminated its NHS contract after reporting “financial difficulties.”
Polkyth Surgery, on Carlyon Road, left thousands of patients in limbo when partners doctors Angus Senior and Manisha Cooper said they had been forced to cede their contract.
NHS England, which oversees the GP service, said that they hoped to announce a new contractor this week who would take on the contract for a year.
A spokesman said: “NHS England is currently in the final stages of discussion with a new provider to take over the Polkyth contract on a 12-month basis.
