Hi, my new Gp phoned and said she needs to start from scratch. So new set of bloods but she is thinking the sweats might be more thyroid if blood readings are good. I seem to be coping rather well. She def says type 2 as I’d be dead with no insulin in type one . I will wait n see bloods this Friday so possibly know Tuesday next week. One thing I was going to ask is how low do I let it drop to? At the moment the lowest it’s gone to is 3.8 and highest 33.9

This might get more views if it were on a different thread. @Docb @everydayupsanddowns might move it to a new thread?

Your new GP is absolutely wrong that if it were Type 1 you would be dead without insulin. People with slow onset T1, sometimes called LADA or Type 1.5, can go months or occasionally years without, hence the large number of older T1s misdiagnosed as T2. I am not saying it is T1, but the possibility should not be dismissed in that way.

Thanks I put it here as I was at the zoom meeting. I just wanted to follow up as I was anxious and lots have been so kind in making me feel supported. I am getting masses of sweats that wake me in the night and on eating and exercise and out of the blue. This is not related to temperature and well I'm not right when they come. Hence the follow on. I cannot eat carbs at all or it raises my sugar but now they are going the other way too and hence I wanted GP help. I know my body is how I feel and its not right. When my sugars were higher I did not feel as ill if that makes sense. I do get good times and bad but the sweats and headache and the almost feeling out of control is not helping. I am past the menopause I think and its completely different so might be I am heading or might be Lada but the blood test will help. Many thanks for your post. Either type is something that needs addressing. So either has its struggles for me . I just need best way forward and to feel better.

Thanks for the update @Nayshiftin

Hope the new bloods and the new GP’s ideas shed some light on things, and help provide a way forward.

Are you checking your BG levels when you have those sweats? Is there a possibility that the sweating may be related to hypoglycaemia?

Sometimes it is good to have fresh eyes on a situation, make sure you put all the relevant facts and try to provide evidence of your glucose levels when you get the sweating episodes as well as examples of glucose levels after eating particular foods.
I would also ask the reasoning behind any decision on how to move forward, what any tests will tell you.
I hope you can get things resolved asap.

Thanks . It’s strange because sometimes it’s the complete opposite from a Hypo. I think it’s low and check and it’s gone up then I feel okay and hubby says check . What I can say is when it’s low I’m ratty and I am thinking I’m confused and trying to hide being that way. So hubby is saying now when I go in a strop . Does tiredness bring on a hypo. I got up the other night with the cat and I checked it was very low for me like 3.8 still not hypo for some but then after sleep it was 6.5 . I am getting hubby to check as my visions not right either. It is more on the low bug went to 9.5 last night after my walk . When is high I am hungry too. Then I was tired then so I dunno. I just don’t feel right at times other times I feel improved physically . My Nordic walking guy is very encouraging saying how great I have improved the scales say so too and I am trying and my sugars are no near high as before . I just need to relax with the flow . Maybe it’s me panicky and as my body is changing it might need adjusting too. Tomorrow’s test hopefully will make me see sense at least. At least they seem to want to help which I know some feel they have not had the support. Here I feel supported and that’s to all . I do appreciate you all.

My glucose test came back and that is looking very good so the fact it is good I think the HbA1c will be too. What is high is the CRP marker which maybe due to obesity or in my case I am thinking more related to my arthritis. Will chat to GP once all tests are back Monday but the diet here and watching what I have done with sugars is all down to the help from this group thanks.

Hope the results are helpful on Monday @Nayshiftin

And that you get a chance to discuss things properly.

Good to hear that your BG check was looking very good - well done! Fingers crossed for your HbA1c 🙂

Update new HbA1c has come back as …. 45 I cannot believe it’s so good . So all my sweats n things are down to inflammation and my arthritis . I am delighted though as 76 worried me and it just shows stop the cakes biscuits snd heavy carbs and I’m good. If I ate as I did it would be that but with no rice pasta potatoes a little bread and cereal not much. Loads of exercise and weight loss and fluids . Wow. I feel chuffed . Thanks to you folks . High five . At least one less worry and hope Gp will help with inflammation . Pain n sweats are no better b it at least no hypo.

So pleased for you @Nayshiftin as I know you've been worried. Glad you got a great result after all your hard work. Congratulations!

Thank you

Absolutely fantastic result! Well done!
I know there have been times when you have really struggled to keep your motivation going but your persistence and hard work have really paid off and I hope you are suitably proud of yourself because you have every right to be!

Thank you. I think it’s down to all those supporting me through this journey. I was scared and anxious and you have all been there. I let it escalate when if I’d done the right things it would help . Still got to continue and work on my health. Thanks for helping me through. Too many to mention names but you all know who helped and it’s you that need to be proud. Helping someone is a really gift thank you

What a fantastic result . WELL DONE .

Thank you

We can all sit here, typing advice to people - but the only ones who can put the advice into practice are the ones asking the questions - ie YOU, mate! Nobody else can do it for you!

Yes, but I got support here and read what people have put on others posts as well as my own . Without all that and the support some days I was just too low reaching out and many including you took time to write and for that snd this site . I am thankful and appreciated it even though some days were not worth getting out of bed for. I even said one day I am low and no one said well I’m worse than you snd that’s to me say a lot of what the people are like here. They support and care. I am pleased too because I s add m going to write a note to self. For not having that biscuit snd cake you are able to keep sugars good . Some cannot do this as their bodies like work differently but for me it has worked at the moment. My
cousins wife is struggling and had to go on insulin so for me I am grateful. I’ve told her this site is great but her choice. I’ve seen amputees from diabetes in the past snd I was blaze about pre diabetes snd let it escalate. However in my defence I never knew carbs were my sugar bombs . I must have ate a punnet of grapes a day as a care worker like sweets only I thought they were healthy . We are educating one another here which matters.
