As is becoming increasingly common in online environments, and following some helpful feedback from several members, we have added an optional setting so that members can display a preferred set of pronouns if they wish.
We hope this helps all members be referred to by others in a way that feels authentically like them, and/or prevents any potential confusion or embarrassment.
Of course this is entirely voluntary, and there is no need for any member to update their profile if they do not wish to.
This small change has also meant that we have slightly adjusted the ’post header’ on smaller screens and smartphones, which has the added benefit of meaning that the ‘relationship to diabetes’ will also be visible on small screens, which is an added bonus for those who browse the forum on smartphones.
If you would like to specify your preferred pronouns, simply click your avatar in the top header, and choose “Account details”, then make a selection and click ‘save’ at the bottom of the page.
